"OMG, just got word that Skype was hacked, and there are reports of fake job interviews and recruiter scams going around. Has anyone else had any sketchy online interview experiences? Share your worst horror stories and let's warn each other."
"Ugh, not Skype itself got hacked, but I had a candidate once show up to an online interview with a background that was literally a messy bedroom. It was a pretty awkward situation. Made me question their professionalism right off the bat."
"Omg y'all, I had an interview with a startup once and their Zoom link was a phishing site. I was able to spot it just in time and called them out on it. Luckily, they took it seriously and we still had a good conversation about the role"
"Dude, I'm still traumatized from when I got hacked during a job interview on Zoom. The interviewer's cat wandered onto their screen mid-conversation and... let's just say it was a real distraction. Luckily, we all still got a good laugh out of it, but I'm never using Zoom again."
"Yikes, not a great experience for the Skype users! Had a job interview once and the interviewer's video just froze on a screenshot of my cat's face lmao. Guess you could say that was a paws-itive red flag"
"Ugh, I'm so sorry to hear that Skype got hacked. Happened to me once too - I was interviewing for a job and the interviewer started asking weird questions, claiming I was the wrong person. Luckily, I spotted the phishing attempt and was able to report it to Skype"
"Lol, I once had a Zoom interview with a major company, but my kid's dog barked through the whole thing. The worst part was when I thought I hung up the call, but it was just on mute. Needless to say, I didn't get the job"
LMAO, I had a pretty bad experience with Zoom last year. Candidate crashed and we couldn't figure out why, had to reschedule for like 2 days. That was a real awkward conversation, trying to explain the situation to our CEO
