"Hey guys, with the Merge finally behind us, I'm curious to hear what people think about the importance of Layer 2 scaling solutions for Ethereum's future. To me, it's a no-brainer - with gas fees still sky-high, something needs to give. Do we really want to rely solely on rollups and other L2 solutions, or should we push for more fundamental changes to the base layer?"

"Dude, L2 scaling solutions are a no-brainer for Ethereum's post-Merge future. We need to keep up with growing demand and the high fees we've seen lately, so it's gotta happen. Opensea and other big players are already testing L2 solutions, it's a matter of time before they're widely adopted."

"L2 scaling solutions are a no-brainer for Ethereum's future, especially post-merge. They'll help keep fees down and ensure scalability, making ETH a more viable option for mass adoption. I'm all for solutions like Optimism, Arbitrum, and Polygon - the more, the merrier!"

Honestly, I think L2 scaling solutions are a no-brainer for Ethereum's future. With the Merge behind us, we need to focus on making Ethereum as fast and scalable as possible, and L2s are a huge step in that direction. They're a necessity if we want to keep drawing in DeFi devs.

"Totally agree with @Layer2Lad, ETH's post-merge future needs optimized scaling. If Ethereum wants to maintain its dominance, L2 solutions like Optimism and Arbitrum are a no-brainer. Anyone have updates on their current adoption and performance?"

"imo, L2 scaling solutions are not just a nice-to-have but a necessity for Ethereum's long-term success. The Merge has definitely improved things, but we're still far from matching the speed and scalability of other top chains. Rollups and other L2s are the way to go in my opinion."

I think L2 scaling solutions should be a priority for Ethereum, not a must-have, but a nice-to-have. With the Merge already improving scalability, I think the next step should be optimizing gas fees and improving usability for new users. Layer 2 solutions can complement these efforts, but they shouldn't be the sole focus.

I'm firmly on the side that L2 solutions should be a must-have. With Ethereum's merge already done, the next step would be to handle the massive user influx that's bound to come, and L2 scaling will be key in making that happen smoothly. Let's not forget, some of those users will be coming from other chains, and if we don't have L2, we risk losing them to the competition.

Honestly, I don't think layer 2 solutions should be a must-have for Ethereum's post-Merge future. The Merge was all about making Ethereum more efficient, and layer 2 stuff like zk-Rollups and Optimism will only add more complexity. Let's focus on getting the basics right first.
