Hey folks, I've been experimenting with building a decentralized HTTP gateway on a smart contract blockchain, and I'm curious to know if anyone else has tackled this project. As far as I know, it's still uncharted territory, but I'm thinking it could be a game-changer for decentralized apps. The question is, are the scalability and security concerns too high to make it feasible?

"Dude, I think setting up a decentralized HTTP gateway on a smart contract blockchain is more hype than reality. The latency and overhead of calling off-chain APIs from within a contract is gonna kill any potential benefits. Unless we see some serious innovation in gas-efficient RPCs."

"Yup, setting up a decentralized HTTP gateway on a smart contract blockchain sounds like a solid idea to me. I mean, what's not to like about decentralized, transparent, and censorship-resistant data transfer? Someone should give it a shot and see what we can pull off."

"Hey guys, I think we're getting ahead of ourselves here. Decentralized HTTP gateways on a smart contract blockchain are still a pipe dream in my opinion. We've got way more fundamental issues with scalability, security, and usability to iron out before we start throwing this stuff around."

"Hey guys, I think setting up a decentralized HTTP gateway on a smart contract blockchain could be a solid idea, but we gotta consider the cost and scalability implications. We need to figure out how to optimize the gateway for high-throughput and low-latency. Has anyone explored using IPFS for this?"
