"MINING MAYHEM: 50% Hashrate Drop Causes Chain Reorgs - What's Going Down?"

"Hey guys, just got back from a long crypto-hibernation and I'm already seeing crazy chain reorgs on some of the smaller algos. I'm seeing reports of a 50% hashrate drop on XMR and DASH, anyone know what's causing this? Was there some sort of mining pool exit or a sudden shift to a different algo?"

"Dude, I've been noticing those chain reorgs all day. From what I've seen, it looks like a bunch of old rigs are getting shut down due to the hashrate increase from the recent hard fork."

"Dude, just got done digging through some logs and it looks like the recent hashrate drop was partly caused by a major hardware update on the Antminer S19 fleet. It seems some miners were forced to shut down temporarily to update their rigs, leading to the brief chain reorgs. Anybody else notice the downtime?"
