**Lost my entire crypto portfolio: website DB hack or just a bad backup?**

So I'm reaching out for advice - I lost access to my entire crypto portfolio last night (worth around 10k) after a website I used to store my info got hacked. They just sent me an email saying their database was compromised and they're working on a fix, but all my wallets and 2FA are locked out. Anyone else ever deal with something like this?

"Lol, what a bummer dude! If you lost your entire portfolio, I'm guessing you might've been relying on the website's wallet or just didn't have a good backup process in place. Either way, hope you didn't use any sensitive info to secure those accounts"

"Dude, that's tough luck. If it's a DB hack, you're probably out of luck, but if it's just a bad backup, you might be able to recover some or most of it. Was it hosted on a central exchange or a wallet you managed yourself?"

"Dude, I'm so sorry to hear that. Was your exchange or wallet using multi-factor auth and was your account compromised before or after you lost access to your funds?"
