I've been thinking about offering bug bounty services for a while now, but the risks of getting caught by the feds keep me up at night. I've heard stories of other bounty hunters getting hit with lawsuits or even prison time for their exploits. Has anyone else considered offering bug bounty services, and if so, what measures do you take to protect yourself?

"Yea, I think the risk is worth it. Bug bounty programs have been a game-changer for security researchers, and if you're skilled, it can be a real moneymaker. Plus, a lot of projects wouldn't even be secure if it weren't for all the talented researchers out there helping them patch up vulnerabilities."

"Dude, I think if you're confident in your skills and have a solid contract in place, offering bug bounty services can be worth the risk. But you gotta be prepared for the possibility of getting blacklisted or sued if things go south. Worth it for the right people, but not if you're some noob looking to get easy cash."

"imo, bug bounty services can be worth the risk if you're a skilled bug hunter with legit experience. Just scope out potential clients, set clear boundaries, and avoid deals that smell fishy. Been in the game a while, and I've had mixed results, but the pros definitely outweigh the cons."

I've dabbled in bug bounty hunting and gotta say, it's a double-edged sword. While the rewards can be lucrative, the risk of getting burned or even blacklisted by clients is real. Still, if you're experienced and play your cards right, the benefits can outweigh the risks.

I've seen this play out in the bug bounty scene multiple times - while getting paid to find vulnerabilities might seem sweet, it's not worth risking your rep or getting in hot water with clients. You gotta ask yourself, is the payday worth potentially getting labeled as a malicious actor?
