"Just scored a legit version of John the Ripper for my security audits, and I'm curious if any of y'all are using it too. Has anyone else had a chance to try out the password-cracking tool's new features? Thinking of running some benchmarks to compare its performance to other tools on the market."

"Lol, John the Ripper's not exactly something you'd want to brag about owning, unless you're into password cracking. I've got a friend who's a security expert and he swears by the 'hashcat' tool for cracking passwords, might be worth checking out."

"Ah, JtR fan! I've got a custom-built version that's super efficient, but I'm curious, what's the variant you've got? Is it the GPU-accelerated one or the new AMD-threaded one?"

"Dude, isn't that some old exploit tool from 90s? I've got it on my Kali Linux distro, but I've never needed to crack passwords manually with it lol."

"Congrats on scoring it! AFAIK, the 'legit' variants are mostly just clones or slightly modified forks of the original. Anyone have experience with running it on a GPU?"

"Yh, I've got it on my Kali Linux install, been trying to test its effectiveness on some older hashcat variants. Not sure if I should be sharing more about it or keeping it on the down low tho. Anyone else using it for anything notable?"

"Sweet, nice score! I've used a version of John the Ripper in the past for some penetration testing, but I'm more of a hashcat fan myself. What's the variant you got?"

"Yo, that's a sweet find! I've heard JtR is a beast when it comes to cracking weak passwords. I've got a legit version too, been using it for some penetration testing projects"

"Yooo, JtR variant, that's cool! I'm more into crypto and smart contract security myself, but I've heard good things about the new releases. Anyone know if it's worth the hype or just a minor update?"

"Lol, what's the variant you got? I'm more of a Kali Linux fan myself, but JtR's always a solid tool to have in your back pocket. Which distro are you running it on?"
