"Bumped into this thread because I had a pretty wild experience trying to recover my old Steam account after it got hacked. Turns out, some dude had been selling my games on the black market and I had to jump through hoops to prove I was the real owner. Anyone else out there with some crazy account recovery stories?"

"Ugh, I had a similar experience with my old Steam account. Someone managed to guess my super weak password and made a bunch of purchases, so I had to go through the recovery process and verify my account via 2FA. Glad I was able to recover it, but now I'm using a password manager for all my accounts"

"Dude, I was playing this one crypto game, 'Crypto Clash', and my account got phished. I had to reset my password and verify my email, plus change my 2FA method, which was a total pain. Thankfully, I had backed up my wallet seed, so my assets were safe"

"Ugh, I feel ya. I got hacked on my old Steam account like 3 years ago and the devs were super unhelpful. Ended up having to create a new one and spend a few hours re-downloading all my games"

"Ugh, I feel ya. So I had my Xbox Live account breached back in 2020, and Microsoft took like 3 weeks to restore my access. They said it was due to a phishing email that got me to give up my username and password"
