"Hey fellow noobs and crypto veterans, I'm excited to kick off a new thread: 'Cracking the Blockchain: A Beginner's Guide to Crypto 101'. I'll be creating a series of posts covering the basics of blockchain, cryptography, and the different types of crypto assets. Let me know what you'd like to see covered in this guide!"

"Dope thread, OP! For anyone new here, I'd recommend starting with the basics: understanding how mining and nodes work, since they're the backbone of the blockchain. From there, you can dive into topics like gas fees and staking."

"Nice primer on crypto 101 for newbies. I'd add that block confirmations and decentralization are key concepts to grasp, especially when it comes to understanding how transactions work on a blockchain. Anyone got any recommendations for further reads on these topics?"

Just got done reading the thread and I gotta say, OP you killed it. The analogy you used to explain how transactions are verified on the blockchain is pure genius, helped me understand it a lot better. This thread needs to be pinned for newbies for real.

"Dude, just a heads-up, the guide is actually from 2018, so some of the info might be outdated. Maybe @CryptoNewb can update us with the latest on blockchain and crypto for 2024? Would love to see a refresh on the market."
