"Guys, just heard that WhatsApp is rolling out end-to-end encryption updates, but with a catch. They're supposedly requiring users to opt-in for encryption, which is pretty shady if you ask me. What do you think, is this a clever way to maintain control or just a desperate attempt to stay relevant?"

"Can't say I'm surprised, WhatsApp's always been a bit too comfy with their closed-source, centralized model. Meanwhile, Signal's been quietly innovating and giving users more control over their data. Guess the pressure's finally mounting on Meta to make some real changes."

"Dude, this isn't news, WhatsApp has been a hold-up in the decentralization space for years now. Anyone still using the app is basically a sheep following the status quo, imo. Time to upgrade to Signal or Telegram already!"

"Haha nice one OP. WhatsApp's attempts to control the flow of info are just a sign of their desperation. Looks like Signal and other decentralized messaging apps are finally taking the reins."
