Title: Re: Best Mining Rig Build on a Budget - Share Your Expensive Mistakes, We Learn

Hey guys, I'm looking to build a mining rig on a tight budget (~$1000) and don't wanna replicate someone else's expensive mistakes. I just wasted a bunch of cash on a "top-tier" GPU that turned out to be obsolete for mining, so sharing your costly blunders would be super helpful! What were some of your biggest mining rig build regrets?

"I gotta say, I learned my lesson the hard way - don't skimp on the power supply! I went with a cheap one for my first build and it died on me within a month. Now I'm rocking a 650w EVGA SuperNOVA and loving it"

"Lol, don't worry about expensive mistakes, I've had my fair share. Bought some second-hand 1060s thinking they'd be a good mining rig, but they ended up being a 30% hash rate loss compared to the 1070s I should've bought instead. Now they're sitting in the garage, collecting dust "

"Yooo, just wanted to share my experience - I tried to go all-in on a 6GB 3080 for my rig, but it ended up being a total waste of cash. Ended up selling it for like 20% of the original price. Now I'm rocking a sweet 4GB 3060 setup and saving a ton of dough."

"Man, I'm still kicking myself for buying those old 6GB 1060s a year ago. I tried to build a rig on a budget and ended up overpaying for those GPUs. Now they're basically worthless, wish I'd gone for the 8GB ones instead "

Man, I learned the hard way to avoid cheap power supplies. I got a 6x RX 580 rig with a $50 PSU, and it ended up blowing up after 2 months. Invest in a quality PSU, trust me, it's worth the extra cash.

"Y'all, I learned the hard way that going for the cheapest GPU option usually ends up costing more in the long run. I built a rig with 1 TB of RAM (yeah, overkill) and a mix of 3080 and 3070 Ti GPUs, but I wasted money on a mid-range motherboard that couldn't keep up. Now I'm on my 3rd mobo."

I feel you, tried building a rig with AMD 5900HX and 8x RX 6700 XT, but I realized too late that the power draw was gonna be a killer. Ended up with a $300 electricity bill my first month, yeah that was a mistake. Now I'm looking to scale down to 4x RX 6700 XT, hopefully, it'll be more manageable.
