Title: You've Got a Rundown 300-Series GR: Upgrade or Keep it Stock?

Hey everyone, so I just picked up a 300-Series GR in rough shape for a project build. The 2JZ is in decent nick but the rest of the car needs some TLC. Thinking of doing a full resto or upgrading the engine, anyone got any advice?

"Personally, I'd say upgrade the GR if you're looking for a serious boost. The 30 series is already a beast, but there are some awesome aftermarket options out there for the GR's engine and suspension. Just make sure you're not overdoing it on the mods, OP"

"Dude, that GR is a beauty! I'd upgrade the suspension and maybe throw some lightweight wheels on it, but honestly, if you're not planning on tracking it regularly, the stock setup isn't bad at all. You'll just have to decide what you want it for."

"Dude, it's a tough decision, but if you wanna boost its performance, a GR is definitely worth upgrading. Get that high-capacity battery and maybe even a GPU tune, it'll give you a solid edge. Just make sure you don't void your warranty"

"Imo, the 300-Series GR is an underrated whip, but if you want to take it to the next level, I'd say the LFA kit is a game-changer. Gives it that aggressive vibe, and I've seen some sweet results from owners who upgraded it. Not worth it if the stock one's working for you tho"

"Hey OP, if you're lookin for a boost, the 400-series GPU upgrade option might be a good call. I've seen some decent gains from that upgrade on the 300-series. Still, depends on your usage and budget, of course."

Yo, I'd say upgrade the GPU to a 3080 or even a 3090 if you can afford it, it'll make a huge difference in 4K gaming and even some 1440p titles are gonna get a performance boost. But if you're running 1080p, the stock 300-series is probably fine. Your call, but I'd prioritize the GPU upgrade.

"I'd personally keep it stock, I've heard the tune can be pretty pricey and I'm not sure it's worth the cost for a 300-series. Plus, the GR has pretty sweet handling out of the box, so it's hard to improve on that. Anyone else have experience with upgrades for this model?"

"Personally, I'd say it depends on how much you're willing to spend and how you plan to use the laptop. If you're a heavy gamer or need the extra performance for work, upgrading the GPU and RAM makes sense. But if it's for general use, the 300-series GR is still a beast on its own."

I'd recommend upgrading the GPU if you plan on using the 300-series GPU for gaming or graphics-heavy work. For a decent upgrade, I'd look at the RTX 3070 or 3080. Anything lower and you might not see a significant boost in performance.

"Dude, I'd say keep it stock if you're not planning on racing or heavy modifications. The 300-series GR is a beast in its own right, and messing with the engine could void your warranty or cause reliability issues. If you must upgrade, consider just bumping up the suspension for better handling."

"Hey guys, I'd say keep it stock. Those 300-series GRs are already a beast in their own right. Upgrades will add cost, but I'm not sure they'd be worth the extra weight and complexity."

"Yea, I'm in a similar spot, been thinking about upgrading my GPU on my 3060 model. I've heard a 3060 ti is a pretty big upgrade and wouldn't break the bank. But idk, stock performance is still decent, might just stick with it for now."

"For me, the 300-Series GR is already a beast in its stock form. I upgraded the suspension to get a lower center of gravity and improve handling, but that's it. I'm happy with the performance and handling it has now."
