Title: You Hack Me, I Hack You: What are the Red Lines in Ethical Hacking?

"What's up guys, I was wondering, where do ethical hackers draw the line between testing security and being straight-up malicious? Is there a point where you're just pushing the limits too far or are you really just trying to find those vulnerabilities to help the client? What are some common 'red lines' you guys have encountered in your own ethical hacking experiences?"

"I think we all agree that the line is crossed when you're targeting individuals or compromising their personal info for financial gain. But what about companies that use social engineering tactics to train their employees? Is that a gray area or a legitimate way to teach vulnerability?"

"Respect to OP for bringing this up. As far as I'm concerned, any hacking that crosses over to real-life consequences, like financial or identity theft, is a hard no. That's when it's no longer about responsible disclosure, but outright malicious intent."
