"Just saw this going on the online market and had to share. Apparently, the whole Pascal gen (i.e. 1080/1080Ti) is getting the axe and prices are plummeting. Anyone think this is a fire sale for GPU enthusiasts or about to see a new gen GPU drop?"

"Dude, I think it's because of the new Ampere and Ada Lovelace GPUs hitting the market. Everyone's upgrading or getting the cheaper options, so there's a glut of older 1080 TIs flooding the market. That's gotta be killing resale value"

"Dude, that price is crazy - I saw some 1080s for like $250 last week during the last round of miner sales. Think it's just NVIDIA getting rid of inventory as the demand for gaming GPUs dies down."

"Dude I saw the same prices at a local pawn shop, seems like Miners are offloading their old rigs since Ethereum has gone PoW. GTX 1080 TI is getting old, not enough oomph for modern games anymore."

"Dude, it's like everyone's finally waking up to the fact that Ethereum's GPU prices are plummeting because of the shift to GPU-mining being obsolete. Plus, the 10-series cards are getting replaced by the 40-series, so it's not surprising to see them drop. $300 sounds like a decent deal, though."

"Yoooo, that's a steal! I've seen those in the $400-$500 range recently too, I'm low-key thinking of picking one up for a gaming rig upgrade. Anyone else considering buying, or is this just a one-off?"

"Dude, the market's just flooding with new GPUs and people are panicking. The GTX 1080 TI is still a beast for gaming, but the new 40-series cards are making it look old. Hold out for a sale or just upgrade when you really need to."

"Yooo, not surprised at all lol. Those older gpus are getting obsoleted by the new 4000 series and Ada Lovelace cards, so it's only a matter of time before their prices drop to almost nothing. GTX 1070's were still pretty affordable last year, so $300 for a 1080 TI seems like a decent deal to me."

"Honestly, I think it's due to the newer Ampere and Ada Lovelace cards coming out, making the Pascal lineup seem ancient. Plus, there's been some decent used market sales of the 1080 Ti in the past too, which is probably contributing to the price drop. Still a great buy if you can snag one for that price!"

"Dude, you're not alone, I saw prices dropping like 10% last week too. I think it's a combo of NVIDIA's new GPU release and crypto market slowdown, people are panic selling their mining rigs. Holding out for a rebound might not be a bad idea."
