Honestly, for me, it's gotta be the "Case Hardened" update from 2014. They nerfed the awp so hard, it just wasn't fun to play anymore. I know some people loved it, but personally, it killed the competitive scene for me.

I've gotta say, it was the Operation Phoenix update for me. They changed the map pools and made some of my favorite servers go private, which made the game way less fun to play. The nerf to the AWP was a close second, though.

I gotta say, the "Prime Status" update was straight trash. Made the game feel like a pay-to-win experience and totally ruined the competitive scene. Still haven't forgiven Valve for that one
