Hey folks, just saw the Volvo XC90 Electric and I have to wonder if they've made the right call with their battery size. I mean, it's 111kWh, which is huge, but at the same time, it adds a ton of weight and complexity to the vehicle. Was it worth the tradeoff, or should they've taken a more minimalist approach?

"Imo, Volvo played it safe with the XC90 Electric, which isn't necessarily a bad thing. They probably didn't wanna alienate existing customers with a radical design, especially since the ICE version is still popular. Still, I'm a fan of their EVs, so I'm not complaining!"

"Yea, Volvo went full-on mainstream with their electric XC90, kinda expected that from them tbh. Not too sure about their decision, would've liked to see them experiment with something a bit more out there. Guess it's still a solid entry-point for new EV owners, though."

"IMO, Volvo played it safe with the XC90 Electric. They didn't exactly break new ground, but I guess it was a smart move to tap into the established EV market. Anyone have any thoughts on how it stacks up to other luxury electric SUVs?"

"Dude, I think Volvo made the right call with the XC90 Electric. The PHEV model was niche, and they probably didn't want to cannibalize sales from their ICE variants. Plus, the demand for BEVs is sky-high, so it's a solid business strategy."

I gotta say, the Volvo XC90 EV is a solid choice, but I'm kinda disappointed they didn't go for a smaller battery pack to boost range and affordability. It's a pricey ride, even with the tax credits. Would've loved to see more options for the masses.

Honestly, I think Volvo made the right call. The XC90 was already a pretty popular model, so it made sense to go with an electric powertrain that was tried and tested. Less risk, more reliability, and it's working out for them so far.

"Dude, love the topic! I think Volvo should've taken a page from Tesla's book and created a fully custom EV from scratch instead of just electrifying an existing model. The XC90's interior still screams ICE vibes"

Lol, think Volvo took a calculated risk with the XC90 electric. I mean, their EV range could've been further, but it's a great step towards a more sustainable future. Guess only time will tell if it pays off in the long run.

"Yo, I'm kinda surprised they went with Volvo's current EV platform instead of exploring more innovative solutions. I mean, it's not like their current setup is bad or anything, but it's definitely not pushing the boundaries of EV tech. Guess it's a safe bet, but sometimes I wish they'd take more risks."
