Title: Tunnel Vision: Is Tor/I2P Still Worth It in 2024 or is a VPN Enough?

Hey guys, I've been thinking about my online security setup and I'm starting to wonder if Tor and I2P are still necessary in 2024. With more and more VPNs coming out with strong no-logging policies and AES-256 encryption, can we rely solely on them for anonymity and security, or do Tor and I2P still bring some unique benefits to the table?

Honestly, I'm still a fan of Tor for its added layer of security, but it's true that a VPN + a good browser extension can offer similar protection for everyday internet use. However, for the most sensitive stuff, I still think Tor's extra anonymity is worth the potential slowdowns.

"imo, Tor/I2P still got its niche, but it's like having a shotgun vs a rifle - they're different tools for diff jobs. If you're just browsing, VPNs are probably fine, but if you're doin' anything shady or wanna keep your online activity super private, Tor's still the way to go."

"Dude, I've been using Tor for years and it's still a no-brainer for me. VPN isn't a replacement for the extra security layers Tor provides, but it's a decent addition to your online shield. I2P might be a bit too niche for most users, though."

"Honestly, I still think Tor is worth using for anonimity, especially for P2P and dark web stuff. VPNs can be intercepted by govs/corporates, but Tor's onion routing is way more secure imo. Anyone agree/disagree?"
