Title: "SysAdmins, Share Your Craziest Server Migration Horror Stories"

"Y'all, I've been in this game long enough to have seen it all - from accidentally setting the destination IP to the default gateway of our entire production network to forgetting to switch the DNS records after a migration. But the cherry on top was when I had to deal with a vendor who 'lost' our backup data and tried to sell it back to us as a separate product . Who else has a crazy migration story to share?"

"LOL, I've got one! Migrated a client's server from an ancient Windows Server 2003 to a shiny new Ubuntu box during peak hours, only to realize their entire workflow relied on some ancient Java applet that didn't play nice with modern browsers. Guess who got a 12-hour extension?"

"OMG, this reminds me of the time I had to migrate a server from an ancient P2V setup to a shiny new ESXi cluster. The data transfer took 12 hours straight, but the kicker was when the VM's network adapter decided to freak out during the boot process "

"Ahaha, I've got one - we once migrated a server to a new datacenter and accidentally set the IP to 127.0.0.1 instead of the actual public IP . Ended up with a room full of confused sysadmins wondering why our entire internal network was coming online."

"Ahah, this is gonna be a good thread. So, I migrated a customer's server from a shared host to a VPS during a Black Friday sale, and their website somehow ended up redirecting to a weird Chinese forum site instead of their homepage. Talk about a Thanksgiving-level fail"
