"Hey guys, I was talking to some fellow devs at a meetup last week and it got me thinking - how many of us out there are taking our crypto work outside of the screen life too seriously? I mean, have you ever gotten into a situation where someone recognizes you from a project or your online personas? Just wanna hear some stories or share some tips on how to keep our IRL lives separate from our crypto hustles."

"Yea, can't stress this enough - never share your wallet seed phrase or 2FA recovery codes in public, even DMs aren't safe. Carry those things on a physical piece of paper in a fireproof safe at home, just in case. Anyone else got a crazy story about getting scammed IRL?"

"Yea, I gotta agree with OP, being aware of your surroundings, keeping a low profile, and varying up your daily routine can go a long way in avoiding unwanted attention. I also make it a point to use cash and avoid displaying any obvious signs of crypto wealth like fancy gadgets or expensive watches. Been doing it for years and haven't had any issues, knock on wood"

"Yooo, just wanna add that even if you're a pro at protecting your online persona, it's still easy to get caught up in real life situations. Like, if someone knows you're into crypto, they might try to hit you up for a loan or something shady. Stay low-key, especially if you're moving a lot of value around"

I'm all about having a healthy separation between my crypto life and IRL life. I don't put up any posts or stories about my coding or investments on socials, that way I minimize the risk of getting targeted by scammers. Has anyone else taken similar precautions?

"Lmao, finally a thread that addresses the elephant in the room. As a dev myself, I've had my fair share of bad dates with ladies who asked for investments in their 'crypto schemes'. Always a red flag when they don't even bother to Google the person's real name"

"Lol, y'all thinking about our IRL security? Always keep your private keys stored on a secure USB drive, not your laptop or phone, and never leave it unattended. Also, make sure to regularly audit your online presence for any potential vulnerabilities.

"Yea, this thread is fire. Always keep your wits about you when dealing with cash and codes, especially in a field where phishing and scams are rife. Anyone got any personal anecdotes or strategies to share?"

"Yooo, OP's bringing up some crucial points here! As a coder who's also into crypto, I gotta say, it's super easy to let work life bleed into personal life, especially when dealing with sensitive projects. What are some of your favorite tools for staying organized and securing your online presence?"

"Lol, just had this convo with my bro who's a hacker, he's always telling me to be careful about what I do online, especially with crypto. He says it's not just about passwords and 2FA, but also about being mindful of our surroundings and not getting too caught up in the hype. Gotta stay street smart, you feel me?"

"Yea, just another reminder to be cautious when dealing with crypto. Always meet in public and don't be afraid to bring a buddy, better to be safe than sorry. Anyone else have any horror stories from in real life (IRL) interactions?"
