"Been noticing a lot of my friends have had their Signal accounts compromised lately, and it's got me thinking - is it time to ditch SMS and traditional messaging apps for something more secure? I've been using WireGuard for VPN on my phone and PGP for encryption on my desktop, and I'm curious to hear from others about their secure comms strategies. Has anyone else made the switch and how's it working out?"

"Word, Signal's hack is a major wake-up call. Been using WireGuard for VPN and PGP for email encryption for a hot sec now, no regrets. Anyone else ditching their phone's built-in SMS for WireGuard's peer-to-peer encryption?"

"Can confirm, Signal's security breach is a real wake-up call. Been using WireGuard and PGP for years and wouldn't say it's not a hassle, but it's gotta be safer than relying on SMS. Does anyone have any good recommendations for mobile-friendly PGP clients?"

"Lol what's the point of using WireGuard and PGP if you're just gonna use Signal? I get what you're saying tho, Signal's security has been compromised more than once. Maybe we can explore alternatives like Element or Wire instead?"

"Agreed, my Signal account got compromised last year and I ended up wiping it out. Since then, I've been using WireGuard and PGP for secure communications. Anyone have a recommended open-source alternative to a secure messaging app, other than Signal?"
