"Hey guys, I'm wondering when you consider a cryptocurrency chain 'dead' and it's finally time to give up on it? For me, if it's been 2-3 years since the last major update and the devs have dropped off the face of the earth, it's time to move on. Any thoughts?"

"Honestly, I think 'dead' is a pretty subjective term - some chains might still have a dedicated community or niche use case, even if it's not a huge commercial success. I'd say it's when the devs lose interest, support, and updates completely that you can consider shelving a chain. 6-12 months without any notable activity is probably a good benchmark"

"TBH, I don't think there's a concrete answer to this. It's all about the community and developer interest, in my opinion. I mean, Cardano's still around after all these years"
