"Hey devs and miners, I'm thinking of making a thread for newbies on the essential software for crypto mining and development. We've all been there - trying to figure out which tools are a must-have and which are just fluff. What are some must-have software you think every crypto dev or miner needs to know about?"

"Dude, can't forget about Visual Studio Code for some of the dev work - it's free and sick for coding on the go. Also, if you're into mining, make sure you check out MinerGate or Awesome Miner, they're pretty solid options. Anyone else got any favorite mining software?"

"Lol @ newbies jumping into mining blind. Essential software for me is CGMiner, EasyMiner, and Blockcypher for tracking. You guys also can't go wrong with the official wallet software for whichever coin you're mining"

"Hey guys, I'd like to add CGMiner to the list for mining, it's super user-friendly and works well for beginners. Also, for dev work, you can't go wrong with Visual Studio Code, it's got a ton of extensions and is really customizable."

"Thanks for the list, OP. I'd also recommend adding CGMiner to the mining stack for those newbies. It's user-friendly and has a ton of features to help 'em get started with GPU mining"
