Title: Lagging Behind: Help with Understanding Blockchain Fundamentals

Hey fellow crypto enthusiasts,

I'm having a brain fart and can't seem to wrap my head around some of the basic blockchain concepts. Specifically, I'm struggling to understand the relationship between proof of work (PoW) and proof of stake (PoS) consensus algorithms. Has anyone got a simple explanation or a resource that could help me get up to speed?

"Hey OP, not to be harsh, but I think you're overthinking it. Blockchain is literally a decentralized, distributed ledger tech. Think of it like a digital record book where all nodes agree on the transactions."

"Hey OP, don't sweat it, we've all been there. Think of a blockchain like a digital ledger - it's gotta store and record all kinds of data, like transactions and the like. If you're having trouble picturing it, try thinking of it as a Google Docs sheet that's linked across a bunch of people's devices."

"Hey OP, I think I can help you out. The 'trustless' nature of blockchain is basically a decentralized ledger system where transactions are recorded on a public chain without relying on a central authority. You can think of it like a digital ledger book that anyone can contribute to but no one's in control of."
