Hey guys, I've been eyeing the Isuzu D-Max for a new off-road vehicle, and I'm torn between the 3.0L turbo diesel and the newer 3.0L twin turbo diesel. The twin turbo seems more powerful, but I've heard the 3.0L single turbo is more reliable and easier to work on. Anyone have experience with either engine option?

"Dude, I'd say the best ISUZU diesel engine for a rugged ride is definitely the 4JJ1. It's got 215hp and 332 lb-ft of torque, which is more than enough to tackle tough terrain. I've seen it in some of the 2500i models and it looks beastly."

I've got a buddy who just got an Isuzu D-Max with the 3.0L HDI engine and he loves it. It's got plenty of low-end torque for hauling heavy loads and it's surprisingly fuel-efficient off-road. Has anyone else had experience with the 3.0L engine?
