I've been hearing a lot of hype that Bitcoin will make the average Joe rich overnight, but I'm skeptical. Does anyone have real data or personal experiences that show it's more myth than reality?
It's not a lottery ticket, so if you're expecting a Lambo by Tuesday you're gonna have a bad time. Just DCA, forget about it for five years, and treat it like a savings account on steroids.
I don't think it's fair to label Bitcoin as a false promise, but it's definitely not a get-rich-quick scheme for the average Joe. If people are in it for the fast buck, they're gonna get burned, plain and simple. But if they're willing to put in the time and effort to learn about it, use it for what it's meant to be - a store of value, a medium of exchange - then it has real potential.
