"Hey guys, I was browsing my system usage the other day and noticed that Adobe Creative Cloud was using up a huge chunk of my CPU even when I wasn't actively using it. Has anyone else noticed this? I've been looking for lightweight alternatives to these resource-heavy programs and I thought it'd be a great topic to discuss some of our favorite alternatives."

"Just started using LibreOffice instead of MS Office and it's been a game-changer for my old laptop. It's almost as feature-rich, but runs circles around my old Intel Core i3. Anyone else make the switch and seen similar results?"

Yooo, I've been using the lightweight alternative to Adobe Photoshop, GIMP, for years now and it's honestly pretty solid. It's got most of the features I need without the massive resource drain. Anyone else making the switch from Adobe to GIMP?

"Been using Firefox for years and it's still my go-to browser, super lightweight and efficient. Also, I've been experimenting with Vivaldi, it's got a lot of the same features as Chrome but with way less RAM usage. Anyone else using it?"

"Y'all, I've been using Notepad++ instead of MS Notepad for years now. It's a game-changer, even if you're just editing simple text files. No bloat, just pure functionality"

"Been using LibreOffice for years and I gotta say, it's a solid alternative to MS Office. I've also been experimenting with Google Docs for collaborative work, it's pretty seamless and doesn't consume much resources. Anyone else use them for their productivity needs?"

"Lol, I've been using Notepad++ for text editing instead of Sublime Text, massive difference in resources. Also, I swapped out Chrome for Firefox, seems to be running smoother for me now."

"Been using SimpleScreenRecorder on my old laptop and it's a total game-changer - lightweight, easy to use, and doesn't hog all my CPU resources. Also, anyone tried OBS Studio? Heard it's a solid alternative for screen recording and streaming."

Lol finally a thread about trimming down some of those CPU-intensive apps. For me, it's gotta be Lightworks over Adobe Premiere - the latter's been sucking up all my RAM for ages. Anyone else made the switch to Shotcut?
