"Hey guys, I wanted to start a discussion about free crypto storage options like those offered by exchanges or third-party services. Some people swear by them, while others are super skeptical about the security and potential risks of losing their funds. Have any of you had any experiences with free crypto storage, and what are your thoughts on whether it's worth the risk?"

"Personally, I've had no issues with Brute (non-custodial wallet) so far, but I know some users who've had their accounts hacked. The risk is definitely there, but I think it's worth it for the freedom to self-custody. Has anyone else had any experiences with non-custodial storage?"

"Personally, I think it's better to keep your crypto off exchanges and store it in a personal wallet. You don't wanna be stuck waiting for a hack to get resolved or worse, lose your entire stash. Just a cold storage wallet and a secure seed phrase is all you need, imho."

I've been using MetaMask's built-in wallet for my ETH and it's been solid so far. The security is top-notch, and it's free, so I don't see any major downsides. Has anyone else had a good experience with it?

"Imho, free crypto storage options like MetaMask's wallet and the likes are a decent choice for small amounts or test tokens. But for serious investments, I'd rather pay for a secure cold storage solution like Ledger or Trezor. Can't put a price on peace of mind, you know?"
