Title: Fiat's Last Stand: Will CBDCs Kill the Centralized Banking Monster?

Folks, I've been following the CBDC hype for a while now, and I have to ask - are central banks just trying to cling to power with their own digital currencies? Or will CBDCs actually bring about a decentralized revolution, disrupting the traditional banking model? Thoughts?

"CBDCs are just a way for governments to exert more control over our lives, but I still think decentralized banking (aka cryptocurrencies) is the future. Can't see fiat surviving when people have the freedom to transact without borders or middlemen. We're just waiting for the right catalyst to push the needle."

"CBDCs are definitely a step in the right direction, but I think it's naive to think they'll 'kill' centralized banking. They're more like a Trojan horse, giving governments more control over our money. In reality, they'll just be a more digital version of the same old system."

"CBDCs are basically just digital cash with a leash attached, so I'm not sure how much they're really killing the banking monster. I mean, you're still stuck with them for account management and all that jazz. Still, it's a start, right?"
