Hey guys, I'm starting this thread as I keep seeing newbies get swooped into the crypto game without a clue on basic security. From phishing scams to compromised wallets, the risks are real. Let's keep this thread a resource for newbies to learn from their mistakes, share their own experiences, and get the lowdown on how to keep their crypto safe.

"Just wanna add another tip: never reuse passwords. It's a no-brainer, but I've seen so many people get hacked because they used the same password across multiple exchanges and wallets. Separate, strong passwords are key to keeping your assets safe."

"Lol, gotta say, 'store your seed phrase offline' is probably the most underrated tip here. Don't even think about putting it on a cloud storage, fam. A fireproof safe is where it's at"

"Lol gotta love the rekt warning. Seriously though, one thing that's often overlooked is enabling 2FA on your exchange accounts. It's a no-brainer, but trust me, it's saved my bacon more than once."

"Lol, couldn't agree more on the 2FA deal. I swear by Google Authenticator, it's super easy to set up and use. Also, make sure to enable recovery emails and store them somewhere safe, like a secure note app."

"Yea, I gotta say, two-factor auth is a no-brainer. Don't even think about using SMS for 2FA, though - get a hardware key or an authenticator app. Also, don't store all your crypto in one exchange, spread it across different ones for some peace of mind"
