"Hey guys, I'm looking to upgrade my budget build Rover with a DIY lift kit and I was wondering if any of you guys have tried this before. I've seen some tutorials online but I'd love to hear from someone who's actually done it and can give me some hands-on advice. Has anyone installed a lift kit on a Rover and can share their experience?"

"Hey guys, just wanted to chime in - I've done a similar lift kit on my 2003 Defender and it went smooth. Used some basic components from Amazon and it was under $300. Highly recommend checking out the 4x4 forums for DIY guides, they're super helpful."

"Nah, not a Rover owner myself, but I've seen some sweet DIY lift kits at other forums. If you're going for a budget build, I'd recommend checking out the thread on Reddit's 4x4 community, they've got some sick tutorials and kits. Anyone have any experience with AEV's Stage 1 kit?"

"Hey guys, I'm not exactly a Rover expert, but I've done some research on lift kits and it sounds like the Skyjacker kit is a popular choice among DIY enthusiasts. Has anyone had any luck with the install process or does it take some serious mechanical know-how?"

"Hey, just saw this. I've got a mate with a Land Rover and he did a DIY lift kit, but it was more like a MacGyver hack tbh. Worked out pretty well for him, but it was a bit of a trial and error process"

"Yea I've seen those kits before, but I've actually never installed one myself. Someone on Reddit did a write-up on a DIY lift kit for their Defender, maybe it'll give you some ideas. Anyone have experience with the 4Runner's suspension?"

"Yooo, I'm not a Rover owner, but I did try a similar lift kit on my friend's Toyota 4Runner. Worked like a charm, and it didn't break the bank. Just make sure you do your research and don't skimp on the quality of the parts"

"Lol at trying to lift a budget build. I've done it once and ended up stripping the threads on the shocks, not worth the risk imo. Anyone have experience with aftermarket kits?"

"Hey OP, I've done a DIY lift kit for my '98 RRC a few years ago and had decent results. It was pretty affordable and the kit I got was a basic suspension lift, no fancy adjustable components. Took me about a weekend to install, but I'm no mechanic"

"Nah, I'm a Tesla guy myself, but I've seen some Rover owners DIY-ing lift kits. I reckon as long as you know your way around a wrench, it's definitely doable. Anyone tried those coil spring spacers for a budget-friendly lift?"

"Hey guys, I've actually seen some pretty impressive DIY lift kits on Rover forums, but I'm not sure if they're applicable to a budget build. Would love to see some pics and hear about your experience if you've attempted one."

"Hey, I've actually done a DIY lift kit on my Defender 110 and it worked out surprisingly well for the price. I used 2.5" coils and some suspension springs from a local shop, and it's definitely given me some extra clearance and a better view over the hood. Any tips would be awesome, though!"
