Hey fellow tinkerers and electric vehicle enthusiasts,

I'm about to embark on a DIY EV conversion of my old 2003 Honda Civic and I'm looking for some budget-friendly advice and inspiration. Has anyone successfully converted a car on a shoestring budget (think $500-1000 in total costs)? What were some of the biggest headaches you encountered and how did you overcome them?
