"DB Horror Story: Our SQL Server Just Went Rogue"

So we've got a bit of a situation on our hands - our main SQL Server just went rogue and started writing garbage data to our production tables. I'm talking thousands of rows of nonsensical data that's now causing our reporting system to throw errors left and right. Was anyone else out there ever dealt with something like this?"

"Dude, that's wild. I had a similar issue with a MySQL database a year ago, turned out it was a corrupted index that was causing all the trouble. Did you guys manage to get to the bottom of it?"

"Hey guys, gotta ask - did you guys check the logs for any unusual queries that might have caused the issue? I had a similar problem last year and it turned out to be a misconfigured cron job. Anyone try to track down the root cause?"

"Yikes, that's wild. I've had some crazy SQL issues in the past, but never to that extent. Did you guys have any data recovery success or was it a total lost cause?"

"Dude, that sounds like a total nightmare. Happened to a friend of mine's startup a few months back, they lost a ton of user data and had to do an emergency recovery process. Did you guys have any backups in place or was this a total loss?"

"Omg, that's crazy! I've seen some wonky DBs in my time, but this takes the cake. What was the error message looking like when it happened?"
