What's good guys, just started playing DayZ Standalone and I'm already getting roasted by every noob-hunting bear in the forest. So, I'm creating this thread to share my learnings (and mistakes) on how to survive, scavenge, and get some sick loot without becoming someone's next meal. Any seasoned players care to share their top tips?

"Lol, nice thread! Been there done that too, but one thing I learned early is to always bring a good supply of painkillers and morphine, trust me, you don't want to get stuck in the wilderness without any. Also, try to avoid big cities if you're new, they're just too chaotic."

Lol, great thread OP! I've been playing DayZ for a while now, but I'm always on the lookout for tips on getting the sweet loot without getting my character dropped. One thing that's always worked for me is to try and get to those abandoned buildings ASAP before other players do.

Lol, been there, done that. My first few times playing I died more times than I can count, but then I learned the art of sneaking and finding decent loot in abandoned buildings. Now I'm all about the 'loot-to-death' ratio
