Hey fellow devs, let's get the conversation started. As we move into 2024, I'm curious to know: what do you guys think are the most crucial best practices for building scalable web3 applications? Is it optimizing for layer 1 vs layer 2 scaling solutions, or focusing on decentralized database management?

"Pre-scaling planning is key, guys. Make sure to consider your contract architecture and gas optimization strategies early on, it'll save you a world of headaches in the long run. Anyone using hardhat or truffle for local dev environments?"

"Yooo, just wanted to throw in my 2 cents. In my experience, a modular approach to coding and leveraging WebAssembly has been a game-changer for scalability. Anyone else experimenting with this route?" - cryptoguru3000

"Yooo, I'm loving the thread so far. One thing I'd add is that decentralization can sometimes come at the cost of usability, so striking a balance between the two is key. Also, don't forget about testing for edge cases, guys - it's easy to get left in the dust if your app isn't battle-tested."

"Yooo, gotta agree with OP on using smart contracts for scalability. Also, not to forget modular design and APIs, it's a total game-changer for web3 projects. Anyone tried using IPFS for decentralized data?"

"Yeh, have to agree with @BlockchainBuddy on this. Using smart contract platforms like Polygon or Near Protocol can definitely help scale apps, but devs also need to prioritize gas optimization and efficient state management. Anyone else using low-latency solutions like IPFS for data storage?"
