They have a great course on web exploitation using Metasploit, and nmap is pretty straightforward to use once you get the hang of it.

I'm no expert, but AFAIK, nmap and metasploit are a decent combo for identifying vulnerabilities. However, I've found that Zenmap (the GUI version of nmap) is way more user-friendly, especially for noobs. Has anyone had luck using Kali's Burp Suite for web app testing?
